Thomas B. Brady
Thomas is a Chartered Engineer with the UK Engineering Council (ECUK-CIBSE) and a member of The Chartered Institute of Building Service Engineers (CIBSE). Thomas is a founding Director, together with Michael Gribben, where xburo was formed to provide expert mechanical and electrical engineering and energy/sustainability services to address a need in the marketplace.
Thomas’ extensive engineering experience – totalling more than 25 years – means that he well qualified to fully understand the complexities of engineering services design and, in particular, the commercial and environmental impact which decisions have on the built environment.
Notable projects for xburo include Building 1329 (Neptune), HMNB Clyde, Granite House, Glasgow and Ocean Terminal, Edinburgh, valued at £100 million.
Beyond Thomas’ design experience, he is an expert in strategic engineering advice, validation of client objectives, full design reviews and audits, cost management projection of M&E services, sustainable design, value engineering, independent certification, commissioning management, energy assessment and low carbon design consultancy.
After many years working in the industry, Thomas wanted to develop and create a company which would be known for its expertise in mechanical and electrical engineering and bring to the marketplace a senior-led engineering consultancy. This approach has allowed Thomas and Michael to build a company backed by a strong team of engineering experts that use their knowledge, skills, and experience to go the extra mile for their clients and provide a 360 service from the beginning of a project to the end of the project.
When Tom is not in front of an excel spreadsheet, he enjoys football, skiing holidays and family time and hates shopping. He doesn’t play golf but is always happy to lend a hand or have a beer at the xburo Golf Day! A wicked sense of humour unless it is about calculations as those things he takes very seriously indeed.
