Growth ramps up with Senior Appointments

Xburo has stepped up its expansion plans with two strategic senior appointments.

The leadership team is being strengthened as part of plans to grow the firm’s foothold in the built environment market and scale its operations.

The engineering consultancy partnered with Chiltern Capital earlier this year to support its growth strategy. A major recruitment drive is now underway, with the ambition of making Xburo one of the UK’s most sought-after employers for engineering professionals.

Sagar MacKenzie, Finance Director, and Yvonne Thompson, People & Talent Director, join the leadership team under the stewardship of founders Thomas Brady and Michael Gribben.

Sagar, formerly Chief Financial Officer of Tag Digital, brings significant experience in financial leadership, strategic planning and operational scale-up across professional services, consultancy and people-led businesses.

Yvonne will lead the firm’s recruitment plan, attracting high-performing professionals as the business grows. She has extensive experience in shaping people strategies, which will be key as Xburo evolves from a founder-led practice into a scalable, high-performance engineering consultancy.

Xburo Director Michael Gribben said: “This is the first phase of our growth plan as we transition into a leading national specialist in asset engineering, design and technical advisory for the built environment.

“Key to our success has been senior expertise that solves complex engineering challenges in some of the UK’s most demanding environments, including critical national infrastructure. We are building these capabilities by creating opportunities for our expert engineers, and by seeking engineers who will play an active role in taking Xburo forward as we make the most of our partnership with Chiltern Capital.”

The firm is recruiting senior engineers with an entrepreneurial outlook and a genuine stake in seeing the company achieve its aims.

Alongside the leadership appointments, Xburo will expand its service offering across its core sectors of public healthcare, defence, education and commercial.

Recent contract wins include appointments to national frameworks for critical infrastructure, resilience preparation at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, and numerous technical due diligence (TDD) projects supporting acquisitions. Xburo is now looking for engineers to help deliver this growing pipeline of work.
