Xburo Secures Investment from Chiltern Capital to Drive UK Expansion

Xburo has partnered with private investment firm Chiltern Capital to fund ambitious expansion plans, alongside a major recruitment drive to meet growing market demand.

We have received significant investment to accelerate our foothold in the UK built environment market. The deal marks a significant milestone for our 20-strong firm, which has set its sights on becoming a leading national specialist in MEPH asset engineering, design, and technical advisory.

The investment will support our geographic expansion, as well as enabling Xburo to expand its service offering to deepen the firm’s proposition for clients across its core sectors of public healthcare, defence, education and commercial.

Founded in 2018 by Thomas Brady and Michael Gribben, the business has successfully grown its revenues in recent years, and supports over 60 clients with evolving requirements across the built environment.

Chiltern is backing Thomas and Michael to lead the company on the next phase of growth. Chiltern will play an active role in supporting Thomas, Michael and the team to continue to deliver high quality outcomes for its customers and support the growth of the business.

We deliver substantial projects for blue-chip public and private sectors clients, with a strong pipeline of opportunities to support future growth and expansion.

Michael Gribben, Director and Co-Founder of Xburo, said: “Our vision is to build Xburo into a leading UK national specialist in asset engineering, design and technical advisory for the built environment, and this investment is a major vote of confidence in our ability to do exactly that. Chiltern Capital’s backing will strengthen our capabilities and extend our reach across Scotland, London, and other regions that align with our sector focus. Through boosted recruitment and a widening of our sector expertise, we will continue to deliver the quality of service and expertise that is synonymous with the Xburo name.”

Andrew Reid, Investment Director at Chiltern Capital said: “We are committed to the long-term success of Xburo and its ambitious plans to scale the business. We look forward to supporting the management team with the capital needed to fund its expansion and drive its market positioning for the benefit of its engineers, staff and clients. We look forward to seeing Xburo achieve its full potential.”

Thomas Brady, Director and Co-Founder of Xburo, added: “There is a significant and growing need for specialist technical advisory and engineering capability throughout Scotland and across the rest of the UK, particularly in the sectors we operate in, including defence, healthcare, education and critical infrastructure. This investment represents the next phase of our development and a clear statement of intent about where we are taking this business.”
